From its consolidation in romantic tourism to the anticipation for the start of the snow season, the international press has set its sights on Chile over the past month.

During the month of June, 47 appearances in the international press were recorded, with an especially strong presence in key markets such as Brazil, Spain, and Argentina. The media coverage not only reaffirmed Chile as a diverse and sustainable destination but also consolidated its leadership in winter tourism and premium experiences.

Below, we review the most important journalistic milestones of the month, divided by the major themes that captivated international columnists.

Romantic and nature tourism in the Brazilian market

South America surrendered to the charms of romantic getaways and the natural landscapes offered by our geography, with Brazil leading the niche publications.

Under the title “Why Chile is the perfect destination for a couple’s trip”, the Brazilian outlet Catraca Livre highlighted our country as the ideal alternative for romantic travel. The article emphasized the mix of stunning landscapes, wellness proposals, and wine tourism experiences designed for traveling as a couple.

Meanwhile, the Brazilian giant Folha de São Paulo dedicated space to the valleys of the Chilean coast with the piece “Chilean coastal valleys attract both wine fans and nature lovers”, positioning the country as a versatile destination that unites wine culture with outdoor activities.

Everything ready for the snow season in the mountains

The arrival of winter and the opening of the slopes captured the attention of regional markets, consolidating Chile as the great benchmark for winter tourism in South America.

On one hand, the specialized Argentine outlet Mensajero highlighted the official launch of the ski season in our country, showcasing the excellent infrastructure of the national mountain centers and the growing enthusiasm of the Argentine public for crossing the Andes.

In parallel, the Brazilian tourism portal Passeios published the article “The snow season in Chile begins with ski resorts near Santiago”. In it, they detailed the opening of key centers such as Valle Nevado, Farellones, La Parva, El Colorado, and Portillo, noting that their proximity to the capital offers ideal connectivity for all types of travelers.

Urban culture and the new sustainable luxury in Europe

The European market focused on the cultural richness of Chilean cities and the international standard of its premium offerings. Spain’s HOLA Viajes magazine dedicated a special report to the VIK winery, in which it labeled Chile as a world leader in luxury tourism, highlighting how the destination perfectly integrates avant-garde architecture, sustainability, and haute cuisine.

Meanwhile, the prestigious German outlet WELT published the article “Why Santiago and Valparaíso in a combined urban trip are an excellent idea.” In the piece, journalist Frank Rumpf praised the duality between the heritage, the urban art of Valparaíso, and the avant-garde gastronomy of the capital, recommending this combination as a must for travelers from the old continent.
