How to get there by air

Fly to El Tepual Airport (PMC) in Puerto Montt, which receives daily flights from Santiago. From there, the land journey takes about 90 minutes. You can rent a vehicle or book a transfer via Puerto Varas, following Route 225 along the shores of Lake Llanquihue until you begin the ascent to the Mountain Center.

How to get there by land

From Puerto Varas, take Route 225 towards Ensenada, bordering Lake Llanquihue. After 45 km, follow the detour for the 12 km ascent. As there is no direct public transport, you can rent vehicles in the city or at the airport. The weather on the volcano is unpredictable and windy. Always dress in layers: wear a thermal base layer, fleece, and a windproof or waterproof jacket.
