Thanks to the historic snowfall recorded in the Andes Mountains, the 2026 winter season in the Metropolitan Region will break duration records. The snow accumulations allow the main mountain resorts to extend their operating calendars until mid-October and, in an unprecedented event, until the first days of November.

If you’re looking to take advantage of the last runs of the season just a couple of hours from the capital, here are the new schedules and mountain updates.

For the first time in its 38-year history, Valle Nevado will keep its slopes open until November 8. The resort has recorded more than 7 meters of accumulated snow during the winter and recent precipitation that added more than a meter of fresh snow.

With this extension, it will complete 143 continuous ski days in a record year for attendance. In addition, the interconnection with La Parva remains operational, allowing you to explore both mountain domains using a single ticket or season pass.

Favored by the constant renewal of the slopes, La Parva confirmed the extension of its activities until October 18, with the possibility of evaluating additional days depending on weather conditions.

The mountain resort, recognized for its panoramic views of the Santiago valley and its technical slopes, is projected to close one of its best seasons in recent years following the boost from spring storms.

El Colorado will continue its operations until October 18, reaching a total of 113 season days. The resort received more than 70 centimeters of fresh snow in the first days of the month, which combined with the support of its snowmaking system guarantees kilometers of skiable terrain in optimal conditions for skiers of all levels.

Tips for your spring visit to the mountains

  • Check road conditions: Late snowfall may activate the mandatory requirement for chains on Route G-21 and differentiated uphill and downhill schedules.
  • Sun protection: Radiation in the high mountains intensifies in spring; the use of high-protection sunscreen and UV goggles is essential.
  • Verify daily opening: Check the official networks and channels of each resort before heading up to confirm the status of slopes and lifts according to the weather.
