Throughout April, different wineries and municipalities put on unforgettable celebrations to mark the wine harvest.
Did you know our country has a privileged geography for wine production? The Atacama Desert, southern glaciers, the Andes Mountains, and the Pacific Ocean act as natural barriers that protect our vineyards, allowing the diversity of soils and climates to produce a wide range of grape varieties of exceptional quality.
Between March and May, grapes reach their ideal ripeness for the big harvest. That’s why Grape Harvest Festivals are celebrated all across the country, where visitors can take part in everything from hand-picking the fruit to crushing it, ending with music, dancing, and delicious food.
So you can enjoy it too, here are five April harvest festivals you can’t miss, along with the full calendar of celebrations taking place this month.

1. Casablanca Valley: A paradise for whites and Pinot Noir
Just one hour from Santiago and very close to the port of Valparaíso, the Casablanca Valley is a global benchmark for cool-climate winemaking. Its harvest festival is famous for its impeccable organization and for bringing together internationally renowned wineries.
Its success lies in the direct influence of the Pacific Ocean, whose morning fog and cool breezes moderate temperatures, allowing for slow, balanced grape ripening. This unique geographic setting makes it the birthplace of the country’s best Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir.
- Date: April 11 and 12.
- Location: Casablanca Municipal Stadium, Valparaíso Region.

2. Vendimia Fest: The spirit of wine in the heart of Santiago
If your itinerary keeps you in Santiago, you don’t have to travel far to enjoy the Grape Harvest Festival. Barrio Italia, one of Santiago’s most bohemian and creative neighborhoods, is closed to traffic and turns into a big open-air wine celebration.
Here, boutique wineries and small producers take over the streets with exclusive tastings in a relaxed urban setting, with design shops, art galleries, and stands featuring all kinds of products.
- Date: April 11 and 12.
- Location: Barrio Italia (Providencia/Ñuñoa), Santiago.

3. La Araucanía Harvest Festival: Wine awakening in the south
Did you know the harvest festival reaches southern Chile too? In Temuco, a new edition of the La Araucanía Harvest Festival will take place, where you’ll discover the area’s “extreme-climate” wines from the Malleco zone, famous for their elegance and flavors shaped by volcanic soils.
Plus, the celebration is held at the Pablo Neruda Railway Museum, an impressive architectural heritage site that pays tribute to the poet and the legacy of the train.
- Date: April 25.
- Location: Pablo Neruda Railway Museum, Temuco.

4. Guarilihue Harvest Festival: The roots of Chilean wine
For travelers looking for “the real thing,” the Guarilihue area in the Itata Valley is a hidden gem. Here you’ll find producers keeping ancestral varieties like País and Cinsault alive on vines that are over 100 years old.
In this area, about five hours from Santiago, the vines grow without artificial irrigation, drawing out the pure essence of ancient granite soils. The result is honest wines that bring back the most authentic identity of Chilean rural winemaking.
- Why go?: You’ll experience a truly authentic countryside celebration, with local traditions and a landscape of hills that feels frozen in time.
- Date: April 11 and 12.
- Location: Guarilihue, a locality in the commune of Coelemu, Ñuble Region.
