What you should know

How to get there by air

The main entry point is Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport (SCL) in Santiago. Its strategic location allows you to start the Maipo tour immediately. To visit Colchagua and Casablanca, land transfers from the capital are the most efficient option due to excellent road connectivity linking the metropolitan area with these wine regions.

How to get there by land

The valleys are accessible from Santiago via Route 5 South towards Maipo and Colchagua, and Route 68 towards Casablanca. The trip to Santa Cruz takes three hours. It is recommended to rent a vehicle or hire private services to move between vineyards comfortably, always respecting regulations regarding drinking and driving during your wine tour.

Climate and clothing

Mediterranean climate requires sun protection and a hat. Wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear for walking through vineyards. Carry a windbreaker or light jacket, especially if visiting observatories in Colchagua or coastal areas of Casablanca during the afternoon or evening hours.

Must-Know Tips

It is essential to book tours in advance on each winery’s official website. Stay hydrated and always prefer services registered in the Sernatur catalog. Consider hiring a designated driver or private transportation to enjoy the tastings safely and responsibly throughout your entire journey.
