1. The concert and Chilean expressions
During their shows at the Estadio Nacional, BTS surprised their fans with references to Chilean customs and humor. V made the crowd laugh with the phrase “Chile is the best country in Chile,” a nod to one of the country’s best-known memes.
Local slang also made an appearance. V used expressions like “bacán” and “¿cómo estai, poh?”, while Suga commented that Chileans are good for “hueveo.” J-Hope, for his part, said he had tried Chilean wine and eaten completos, which he called “tocomples.”
If you want to learn more about local speech, these expressions are a great gateway into Chilean Spanish, where words and their meanings can change compared to other Spanish-speaking countries.
2. Catrón store: the ponchos that made it onto the stage
One of the most talked-about moments of the visit took place at Catrón, a traditional huaso clothing store located at San Diego 1020, in Santiago. With more than 80 years of history, the shop was where the garments were chosen that the seven members wore during their final concert in Chile.
According to the store’s management, two members of the band’s team arrived shortly before closing to look for Chilean outfits. The members took part in the selection via video call and chose their own mantas and hats, which later surprised the crowd at the Estadio Nacional. The story had international repercussions: after the show, the store began receiving orders from countries such as Germany and England.
3. Viña Aquitania: wine at the foot of the Andes
In Peñalolén, at the foot of the Andes mountain range, Viña Aquitania offers a wine-tourism experience within Santiago. The boutique vineyard was one of the places associated with the group’s visit, after V shared photos among the vines and in the barrel room.
Among V’s images, a bottle of Lazuli Cabernet Sauvignon stood out—one of Aquitania’s flagship wines, made with grapes from its Peñalolén vineyard.
4. Confitería Torres: a classic of Chilean cuisine
Jungkook’s visit to the Confitería Torres was another snapshot that sparked interest. The singer shared images of the traditional establishment, founded in 1879 and, to this day, the oldest establishment in Santiago. Over the course of its history, this venue has become a meeting point for figures from politics, culture, and Chilean society, and it is recognized as the place where the traditional Barros Luco sandwich was born.
If you want to experience a classic of the capital, you can visit this establishment and discover an offering that combines Chilean cuisine, pastry, and café service. Its long history makes it a stop that brings you closer to Santiago’s gastronomic heritage.
5. Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art: the art that caught RM’s attention
The Chilean Museum of Pre-Columbian Art also joined the list of places associated with BTS’s visit. RM, the group’s leader, shared images of the chemamülles, sacred sculptures from Mapuche culture that are part of the “Chile before Chile” gallery and that caught his attention.
After the post, the museum announced a promotion on its social media for those who attended the concerts: by presenting their ticket, they could buy admission for $1,000. If you are interested in learning about the art and cultures that inhabited the territory before the arrival of Europeans, this collection offers an opportunity to connect with that history.
