Wanderlust Dedicates Article to Chilean Patagonia
From the United Kingdom, Wanderlust magazine—considered one of the “bibles” of global tourism—included the story “Just back from… Chile” in its April-May edition. In the article, journalist Elliott Wellsteed-Crook narrated his recent experience in Torres del Paine, defining Chilean Patagonia as a premier aspirational destination for the European market.

Germany: Between Volcanic Adrenaline and Wine Elegance
German travelers’ interest in Chile is experiencing an exceptional moment. The IT Boltwise portal from Germany dedicated an extensive report to Villarrica Volcano, calling it a “miracle of nature in southern Chile.” The outlet highlighted that the massif offers a unique blend of technical adventure—comparable to the challenges of the Alps—and ancestral experiences, alluding to Mapuche culture in Pucón.
Likewise, the prestigious magazine Mortimer Reisemagazin, also from Germany, praised the country’s wine essence in its article “Chile: Wine between the Andes and the Pacific.” The text describes how Chilean geography imprints an unparalleled character on our grape varieties, inviting readers to explore the Central Valley routes.
Atacama: The “Golden Season” and Science at High Altitudes
In Argentina, the focus was on the seasonality of northern Chile. The Turismo de Bolsillo portal noted that autumn is the best time to visit San Pedro de Atacama, highlighting the perfect light during these months and the ideal climate for exploring the Tatio Geysers and the Valley of the Moon.

The world’s driest desert also stood out for significant scientific milestones. The German media outlet WDR highlighted the commissioning of the Fred Young Submillimeter Telescope (FYST), the highest of its kind in the world. It was installed on Cerro Chajnantor, at an altitude of about 5,600 meters.
Connectivity Agenda and Future
The airport sector has made global headlines following the IATA Wings of Change Americas conference. The specialized media outlet Aeroin from Brazil praised Chile’s ambitious strategic plan to increase tourism’s contribution to 4% of the national GDP. The publication highlighted the goal of decentralizing national airspace, fostering direct routes between Chilean regions and neighboring countries without passing through Santiago.
The close ties with the Brazilian market continue to bear fruit. Media outlets such as Panrotas and Gazeta de S. Paulo highlighted the historic increase in visitors from that country and the new joint routes that are making Chile an attractive destination throughout all four seasons, beyond just the ski season.
