1. San Luis Ranch

Discover the beauty of livestock farming on the 13,000 hectares of San Luis Ranch, where the Cárdenas-Oyarzún family has been working with effort and perseverance for 45 years. You will enjoy horseback riding, excursions to Cerro Cazador, lodging at Vizcachas River Outpost, and enjoying a delicious spit-roasted lamb.

How to arrive:

  • From Puerto Natales, you must travel 1 and a half hours by road to the north, taking first Ruta 9 and then along Y-185 to the El Chingo area.
  • If you come from Argentina, you can travel around 5 to 6 hours from El Calafate and cross the border at Don Guillermo River Crossing.

2. Baguales Glamping

Enjoy deluxe domes at Sierra Baguales, a remote area located next to Torres del Paine. E-bike rides, horseback riding, photography tours, fossil discovery, Stand Up Paddle, and flora and fauna sightings are some of the services offered by the ranch.

How to arrive:

  • Baguales Glamping is located at the end of Ruta 9, near the border with Argentina and just over two hours from Puerto Natales.

3. Cerro Guido Ranch

At Cerro Guido Ranch, you will interact with authentic local baqueanos. You can immerse yourself in the ranch culture, in an area located as a wildlife corridor with Torres del Paine. Its emblematic barbecue area, “El Ruedo”, is a must-visit to enjoy the traditional spit-roasted lamb.

How to arrive:

From Puerto Natales, you will need to travel 1 hour and 20 minutes by vehicle to the north, traveling first along Ruta 9 and then along Y-185 to the El Chingo area. If you come from Argentina, you can travel around 5 to 6 hours from El Calafate and cross the border at Don Guillermo River Crossing.

4. Laguna Amarga Ranch

At Laguna Amarga Ranch, you will find amazing landscapes across more than 7,000 hectares. It is known as “the land of the pumas” because of the great number of pumas that inhabit the area, magnificent creatures that you can observe on expeditions for up to six days and seven nights.

How to arrive:

From Puerto Natales, you must travel 1 hour and 20 minutes along Ruta 9 to the north, passing through Cerro Castillo and then taking the turn-off to Y-150. You will have to turn left shortly after passing the viewpoint to Sarmiento Lake.

5. Cerro Negro Ranch

Cerro Negro Ranch is part of Las Torres Reserve, and a perfect place to take a breather before going to Torres del Paine National Park.

You can meet here the lovable sheepdogs and learn more about sheep shearing. You can also visit the museum house that seems frozen in time.

How to arrive:

Cerro Negro Ranch is located at kilometer 193 on Ruta 9. Its visit is included in the All-inclusive program of Las Torres Reserve, and passengers outside the program may go after contacting an executive. The service is seasonal, from the opening of Hotel Las Torres until its closure.

6. Sofía Ranch– Pingo Salvaje

Did you know that horses are called pingos in Chilean Patagonia? At Sofia Ranch – Pingo Salvaje, you can go horseback riding, crossing some of the most impactful landscapes of Chilean Patagonia, as well as other outdoor activities that will inspire you.

How to arrive:

Sofía Ranch – Pingo Salvaje is located just over 25 minutes from Puerto Natales, passing through Ruta 9 and then taking Ruta Y-280 in the direction of Sofia Lake.

Bring yourself to embark on a ship journey to reach La Peninsula Ranch, an exclusive site located in the Última Esperanza Fjord. You will enjoy horseback riding in beautiful landscapes, spit-roasted lamb, and a stay in La Barrosa cabin, with beautiful architecture and an enviable view.

How to arrive:

You need to take a ferry at Mac Lean dock, which is seven minutes from Puerto Natales, and travel 40 minutes across Golfo Almirante Montt to arrive at the harbor leading to the ranch.
