By: Hernan Claro - 24 January, 2023
After being suspended for two years due to the pandemic, the most important event in Hispanic music, the Festival of Viña del Mar, will return to the stage, bringing six nights of music featuring national and international artists.
The Festival has taken place in the same city, Viña del Mar, since 1960. It’s an event that brings both Chileans and international tourists a magical week of joy and music.
And it takes place during the summer, meaning that visitors can take advantage of the beaches, restaurants, and the famous Floral Clock, which is the perfect place for a photo session. Being in Viña during the Festival has a great vibe, making it an experience one should experience at least once in a lifetime.

Will you stay? In Viña del Mar or in Santiago?
During the Festival, staying in Viña del Mar may be the best option, but you should know that due to the high demand during this period, one might opt to stay in Santiago, 140 kilometers (87 miles) from Viña.
It’s easy to get to Viña del Mar from the capital by bus or car, taking the highway through the beautiful Casa Blanca vineyard route. The trip takes about two and a half hours.
The good news is there are hotel vacancies in Santiago and Viña del Mar. When you go to the famous Festival, remember to book services authorized by Sernatur well in advance. Also, if you intend to stay for a more extended vacation, the city has many entertaining alternatives during the summer.
So, if you’re a music fan, like the beach, love great food, and want to have an unforgettable vacation, come to Chile to experience the Festival de Viña del Mar as your best option. We’ll be waiting!
