Its lenga and \u00f1ire forests are covered in snow between May and September, and its trails let you explore silent landscapes with views of the Strait of Magellan. It\u2019s the ideal destination for those looking for <strong>snowy Patagonia<\/strong> without having to embark on major expeditions.  <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>How to get there from Santiago: <\/strong>Fly to Punta Arenas (about 4 hours). From there, the reserve is just a 15-minute drive west along Route Y-290. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pasesparques.cl\/es\/punta-arenas-299\/reserva-nacional-magallanes-3409\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.pasesparques.cl\/es\/punta-arenas-299\/reserva-nacional-magallanes-3409\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Get your ticket here.<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Things to consider before you go<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Check road conditions<\/strong> before heading out. Between June and September, access to several of these destinations may be closed due to heavy snow or ice. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Check with CONAF<\/strong> if your destination is a national park. In extreme conditions, parks may close temporarily for safety. You can check the status at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conaf.cl\">conaf.cl<\/a>.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use a suitable vehicle.<\/strong> If you are going in your own car, keep in mind that 4WD or at least high clearance is recommended for most of these destinations.
