In Conguill\u00edo National Park<\/a>, ancient araucaria trees, volcanic lakes, and the imposing presence of the Llaima Volcano create a magical landscape, which reaches its greatest beauty in autumn<\/strong>, both due to the climate and the colors the forest acquires.<\/p>\n\n

Its main trail is Sierra Nevada<\/strong>, which offers open views of the volcano and lakes. Along the way, it’s possible to observe wildlife such as foxes, Magellanic woodpeckers<\/strong>, and monitos del monte<\/strong> (little mountain monkeys). <\/p>\n\n

Conguill\u00edo<\/a> is located 120 km from Temuco<\/strong>, the capital of La Araucan\u00eda and home to the regional airport.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n

2. Malalcahuello National Reserve: intense landscapes<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

In the heart of the La Araucan\u00eda mountain range and near Conguill\u00edo National Park, the Malalcahuello National Reserve<\/strong> displays one of the most intense landscapes of the autumn season. Its coig\u00fce and oak forests take on red and orange hues that contrast with the green of the conifers, with the Lonquimay Volcano completing a magical scene. <\/p>\n\n

Its trails cover more than 12,000 hectares of native forest<\/strong>, where it’s possible to go trekking, horseback riding, and observe wildlife such as pumas, pud\u00faes, and culpeo foxes<\/strong>. Meanwhile, in the surrounding areas, you’ll find natural hot springs<\/strong> that will allow you to enjoy a magical experience. <\/p>\n\n

Melipeuco: the gateway to Andean Araucan\u00eda<\/h3>\n\n

The town of Melipeuco<\/strong> is the gateway to explore Andean Araucan\u00eda<\/a>. From here, you can find tours to Conguill\u00edo and Malalcahuello<\/strong>, as well as to the magical Icalma<\/strong> lagoon, the imposing glacier of the Sollipulli<\/strong> volcano, and the fascinating Salto del Truful-Truful<\/strong> waterfall. <\/p>\n\n

Here you’ll find the highest canopy in Chile<\/strong> (at 220 meters high), which will allow you to grasp the magnitude of the autumn landscape. Additionally, on the Truful River<\/strong>, you can go rafting<\/a> and feel the adrenaline rush. <\/p>\n\n
