1. Cerro Castillo<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The amazing Cerro Castillo<\/a> is at more than 2,318 meters above sea level (MASL). You can see it from different points of the Carretera Austral, <\/strong>making it a true guardian of the Ays\u00e9n Region.<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is one of the most beautiful places in Chile, with majestic forests and turquoise lakes that leave visitors in awe. The Chinguay Lagoon<\/strong> is especially remarkable in the fall, when the crimson tint of the leaves makes it look like an actual painting.<\/p>\n

The main trail is known as La Traves\u00eda de las Horquetas<\/strong> and it is 53 kilometers long, divided into six sections. Hiking the whole trail will take you between 5 to 6 days<\/strong>, so you should prepare and bring the appropriate luggage.<\/p>\n

How do I get to Cerro Castillo National Park?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The entrance to Cerro Castillo National Park is located 57 km south of Coyhaique<\/strong>, and this city is an hour away from Balmaceda Airport<\/strong>, which handles both national and international flights.<\/p>\n

For now, you can get tickets to the park at https:\/\/pasesparques.cl<\/a>.<\/p>\n

2. Dientes de Navarino<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Find the southernmost place in the world to hike in Chilean Patagonia. On the last island in Tierra de Fuego<\/strong>, you can find Dientes de Navarino<\/a>, a beautiful landscape that extends for 41 km with unique biodiversity, part of the heritage of our country.<\/p>\n

This is a huge trail of medium to high<\/strong> difficulty that takes from 4 to 5 days to complete. You should pay attention to the weather here, since it is quite unstable. Consider adding an extra day or two to your planning to avoid complications.<\/p>\n

How do I get to Dientes de Navarino?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

To reach Dientes de Navarino you must land at the Punta Arenas Airport and then head to the commune of Puerto Williams, either by plane or ferry.<\/p>\n

For security reasons, in Puerto Williams you must give notice to the Carabineros that you will be trekking. \u00a0The distance between the city and the beginning of the trail is approximately 3.5 km, which you can walk or drive.<\/p>\n

3. Cocham\u00f3 Valley<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Cocham\u00f3 Valley<\/a>, also known as the \u201cChilean Yosemite<\/strong>\u201d because of its similarities with the famous American national park, is located at the entrance of the Carretera Austral, in the Los Lagos Region. You will see crystal-clear lagoons, green landscapes, and granite mountains, which makes it a point of interest for hikers.<\/p>\n

Considering its steep trails, you must have previous experience to visit this place. After a 5-hour walk from the entrance, you will reach La Junta<\/strong>, an area where you can set camp and visit incredible places such as the amphitheater, Laguna Trinidad, Cerro Arco\u00edris, and the famous Cocham\u00f3 Slides.<\/p>\n

How do I get to Cocham\u00f3 Valley?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The quickest way is to travel by plane to El Tepual Airport<\/strong> in Puerto Montt, and then drive for around two hours to get to the town of Cocham\u00f3. You can enter the valley for free.<\/strong><\/p>\n

4. Torres del Paine<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

If you are a fan of trekking and long walks, you have probably heard of the Torres del Paine National Park, which was chosen as the \u201ceighth wonder of the world\u201d<\/strong> a few years ago.<\/p>\n

The Torres del Paine has everything! You will find amazing viewpoints, waterfalls, lakes, glaciers, suspension bridges, and diverse wildlife, led by the puma, the biggest predator in South America.<\/p>\n

It has extensive routes that take multiple days to complete like the W and the O,<\/a> but it also has one-day alternatives like the trekking to Base Torres, which will take you to the granite peaks, and the main symbol of the final destination, after walking for four hours (it takes eight hours in total).<\/p>\n

Remember that this is a national park, so you have to buy your ticket<\/a>. It is forbidden to start campfires, and you can only camp in authorized areas.<\/p>\n

How do I get to the Torres del Paine?<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We recommend getting to the Torres del Paine by plane. There are two alternatives<\/strong>. One is to travel from Santiago to Punta Arenas, which is located four hours away from the national park.<\/p>\n

There are also more direct flights from the capital of Chile to Puerto Natales, which is less than an hour away <\/strong>from your final destination.
