A perfect spot to see llamas is the <strong>Salar de Tara<\/strong>, located about 150 kilometers east of San Pedro de Atacama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Approach llamas responsibly, as they may spit or kick if they feel threatened. <a href=\"https:\/\/serviciosturisticos.sernatur.cl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">It&#8217;s advisable to hire a guide registered with Sernatur.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Where to see flamingos in Chile<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With their distinctive pink color and long legs and necks, <strong>flamingos attract travelers worldwide and are one of the most photographed species in our country<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can find these marvelous birds in the Salar de Pujsa, Miscanti and Mi\u00f1iques lagoons, and the Salar de Atacama, which, along with the aforementioned Salar de Tara, are part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bkt-chile-travel\/2024\/01\/b7527e09-salar_ascotan_09.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-44770\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Photo: Sernatur Audiovisual Bank.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Other animals inhabiting the Atacama Desert include desert foxes, vizcachas, long-tailed snakes, red-headed vultures, tench fish, and harriers, among many other species <strong>best discovered on your own.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Unmissable salt flats<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The climatic conditions in the Atacama Desert give life to salt flats, <\/strong>places of extraordinary biodiversity.
