Chile has the driest desert in the world and at the same time has more than 4,000 kilometers of coastline and the largest glacier reserves in South America.  Natural contrasts recognized again during the 27th<\/sup> version of the World Travel Awards giving Chile the Best South American Destination 2020<\/strong> award for the first time.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The awards granted by the WTA highlight the main tourist destinations at regional and global level and are chosen by popular online voting.  The 2020 awards for South America in which Chile obtained 5 awards were announced on November 5th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

South America’s Leading Destination 2020<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For the first time since the creation of the World Travel Awards, also known as the “Oscars of Tourism”, Chile is recognized as the Best South American Destination 2020.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Little by little our country has managed to position itself overseas as a destination of interest thanks to the diverse options of its destinations, tourist attractions, and the different activities that can be enjoyed such as outdoor, cultural or meeting activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the sixth consecutive year we kept the award for adventure tourism fans.  In the 16 regions of our country you will be able to enjoy several activities like climbing the mighty Andes and its volcanos, an assortment of aquatic sports in the 4 thousand kilometers of coast and trekking the most arid desert of the world or the Patagonia\u2019s millennial forests.  We assure you that in Chile you will find the best outdoor gym in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Best Natural Destination 2020<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Chile has a natural heritage that includes approximately 18.6 million hectares where you can walk through the driest desert in the world, climb the highest and most active volcanoes in South America, walk through native forests in the south-austral zone, or sail through archipelagos to see ancient glaciers.  All these attractions are protected in 43 National Parks, 45 National Reserves, and 18 Natural Monuments that invite tourists to meet our country in a responsible way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
