The area, part of the Green Patagonia, invites you on a journey into the vast natural beauty of the south.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A paradise for trekking lovers, climbers, and kayakers.<strong> Cocham\u00f3 and Puelo<\/strong> are two unmissable attractions for extreme sports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The area has natural water slides and ancient forests that overlook the majestic Andes Mountain Range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The recommended starting point is the city of <a href=\"https:\/\/chile.travel\/en\/destinations\/puerto-montt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Puerto Montt<\/a>, in the Los Lagos Region. 116 kilometers away you will find Cocham\u00f3, <strong>mapuzung\u00fan name Kocha-mo,<\/strong> which means &#8220;where the waters meet&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There you can find the Reloncav\u00ed Estuary, ideal for kayaking and touring the coastline that surrounds the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bkt-chile-travel\/2021\/03\/cochamo_trekking.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2936\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Cocham\u00f3 Trail<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The trail that connects Cocham\u00f3 with La Junta is one of the most visited attractions by travelers who love trekking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Those who wish to hike it should consider that it is a rustic area, i.e., there are sectors with a lot of mud, roots, rocks, and trunks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, if you go, wear appropriate footwear and clothing, as you will be walking for about 6 hours on a medium-difficulty route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You must start at the Visitor Center. Registration is mandatory as well as showing the reservation of the campsite where you are going to stay. Registration is also required if you wish to just go for the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Along the way you will find the Piedra River footbridge, streams, waterslides, waterfalls and the <strong>&#8220;Paso de la muerte&#8221;<\/strong> (Death&#8217;s Pass): a narrow route where you can see the Cocham\u00f3 River from a great height.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1800\" height=\"1200\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-32176\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bkt-chile-travel\/2022\/05\/b2bda93b-mmy-cochamo-101-1.jpg\" alt=\"\"><\/figure>Pure Disconnection<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While sports in Cocham\u00f3 and Puelo were the focus of the second chapter of &#8220;R\u00edos de Chile&#8221; (Rivers of Chile), relaxation awaits in the <strong>Green Patagonia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if you are looking to get away from the city, Punta Canela is for you. A town located in the northern sector of Tagua Tagua Lake. You may take a barge and travel through the waters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the area of the Cocham\u00f3 and Puelo rivers there are also horseback rides through the <strong>Ventisquero valley<\/strong>. There you will find the river of the same name, where you can do sport fishing and be dazzled by the Yates volcano.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And if you want to fully disconnect in nature, visit the <strong>Termas del Sol hot springs<\/strong>. The site has 10 stone pools with thermal waters.
