It is also a migration site on the interhemispheric route for birds such as Baird\u2019s sandpiper, tricolored sandpipers, pectoral sandpipers, little and great spotted sandpipers, among others.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Aguas Calientes Salt Flat&nbsp; is an enchanting place with an abundance of Andean flamencos among other species.\u202f\u202fHowever, it\u2019s not only thing that can be found in the wetlands, there is also an exuberant vegetation that is in stark contrast to the surrounding landscape typical of the Atacama Desert.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Wetland swans of Biobio\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Biob\u00edo is located in the central-south of Chile.&nbsp; It\u2019s an extraordinary place with a patrimonial treasure of 10 urban wetlands. They are all between Talcahuano and Arauco, mainly in the coastal areas.\u202f\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bkt-chile-travel\/2023\/02\/e0e6080c-cisne-cuello-negro.jpg\" alt=\"Humedales de Chile_Cisnes\" class=\"wp-image-35623\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Black-necked swans in the Rocuant Andalien\u202fWetland @humedalpaicavi\u202f\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">A diversity of birds concentrates here, which means that wetlands such as the Rocuant Andalien are of global importance as an &#8221; Area of Importance for the Conservation of Birds &#8220;.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This wetland is home to Black-Necked swans, the Coscoroba swan and the Swamp crow.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Another outstanding place is Paicav\u00ed, located in Gran Concepci\u00f3n, an urban zone perfect for bird watching, where you can see the dancer, the kestrel and different species of herons.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The Laguna Grande Los Batros wetland, located in the municipality of San Pedro de La Paz, is of the marsh type, meaning freshwater, and is home to 87 species of fauna.\u202f<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:true,&quot;134233118&quot;:true}\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\"><strong>Nature Sanctuaries of Los R\u00edos\u202f\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">In the south of Chile, specifically in the area of <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/chile.travel\/en\/destinations\/valdivia\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Valdivia<\/span><\/a> <span data-contrast=\"auto\">in Los R\u00edos region, there are a network of wetlands including Angachilla and Llancahue.\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/storage.googleapis.com\/bkt-chile-travel\/2023\/02\/b2e2ccd6-pato-jergon.jpg\" alt=\"Humendales de Chile_Pato Jerg\u00f3n\" class=\"wp-image-35617\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span>Little Duck Jergon in its Wetland home \u202f@lilakossack<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Angachilla, declared a Nature Sanctuary, has four ecosystems vital for conservation.
