By using the app, you accept the practices described in this document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Data Controller<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The data controller responsible for your personal data is the Servicio Nacional de Turismo de Chile (Sernatur), a public agency with offices at Condell 679, Providencia, Santiago, Chile. Contact:&nbsp;<code>die@chile.travel<\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Personal Data We Collect<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We collect the following data:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Account data: email address, username, preferred language and pronouns.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Travel profile: tourist interests, travel style and travel purpose, entered during onboarding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Usage data: places saved as Favourites, routes created and content viewed within the app.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Device data: anonymous session identifier (for users without an account), operating system and app version.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you use the app as a guest, a temporary anonymous session is created with no personal data linked to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Purpose of Processing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your data is used exclusively to personalise recommendations for attractions, itineraries and services based on your interests and location; sync your Favourites and Routes across sessions; improve the quality and relevance of the app&#8217;s content; manage your account and authenticate your identity; and handle support or data-deletion requests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We do not use your data for third-party advertising and we do not sell it to any company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Geolocation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The app requests access to your location to show you nearby tourist content, calculate distances and generate contextual recommendations on the map and in the AI Assistant. Location is accessed only while the app is active on screen. We do not store your location history or share your position with third parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can revoke the location permission at any time from your device settings; the app will continue to work with reduced functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>AI Assistant (chatbot)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The AI Assistant sends your questions to the OpenAI API (ChatGPT) to generate responses. Queries are transmitted to OpenAI&#8217;s servers; Sernatur does not store them on its own systems, but OpenAI may process them according to their own terms of use and privacy policy, available at openai.com\/policies\/privacy-policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On our systems we only store a general category for each query (for example: &#8220;lodging&#8221; or &#8220;destinations&#8221;) for statistical purposes to improve the service \u2014 never the literal text of your messages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The full history of your conversations is stored only on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Local Storage on Your Device<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To enable offline functionality, the app saves on your device&#8217;s local storage the data for places you have visited, your Favourites and your Routes. This information remains on your device and is not transmitted to our servers, except for account data and Favourites, which are synced to your Firebase account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you uninstall the app, all locally stored information is removed from your device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Data Transfer to Third Parties<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To operate, the app uses the following third-party services that may process your data:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Google Firebase (Google LLC): authentication, storage of account data and Favourites in Firestore.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Google Maps Platform: map display and route directions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>OpenAI (OpenAI, LLC): AI Assistant queries are sent to OpenAI&#8217;s servers to generate responses.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apple Inc.: optional authentication via Sign in with Apple.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We do not share your data with any other company or use it for advertising purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Data Security<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We adopt reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration. Account data is stored in Firebase with encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the event of a security incident affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Your Rights as a Data Subject<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Under Law No. 19,628, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you; rectify inaccurate or incomplete data; cancel or delete your personal data; and object to the processing of your data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To exercise any of these rights, email us at&nbsp;<code>die@chile.travel<\/code>&nbsp;from the address linked to your account. We will respond within a maximum of 30 business days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Minors<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chile.travel app is not directed at children under 13 years of age and does not intentionally collect personal data from children below that age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data, contact us at&nbsp;<code>die@chile.travel<\/code>&nbsp;to have it removed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Changes to This Policy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sernatur may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be published within the app with a new effective date.
