This competition mixes ingenuity, technology and manual skills where electric vehicles powered by solar energy and created from the imagination of young university students will compete.
An event of great interest that called for teams from all over the world to test their skills at building an electric vehicle that may be capable of crossing the Atacama Desert, the driest in the world, exposed to the highest levels of solar radiation …we’re talking serious business!
The race starts in Santiago, with destination the city of Arica, a 2,500 km route (1,553 mi) with occasional stops in several big cities in the north of the country. This is a great adventure that drives teams to compete in different categories, based on the development of their electric vehicles and their use of resources.
The activity is eco-friendly, it promotes environmental awareness and collaboration between the participants, to form a network of students and professionals who unite in order to promote the values of a more sustainable society.
