Frutillar

Its underlying German tradition invites you to taste a delicious kuchen or apple strudel by the shores of the Llanquihue Lake. Be taken away by the Chilean-German cultural mix in this city guarded by volcanoes!

Frutillar enjoys a well-deserved reputation among classical music lovers for its excellent year-round programme of events. The Teatro del Lago is a magnificent lakeside concert hall which plays host to top international orchestras and artists, and the annual Semanas Musicales de Frutillar is a fortnight-long midsummer classical music festival which attracts visitors from all over the world.

Lose yourself in Frutillar, in its black sand beach and crystal-clear water. Walk along its clean and tidy streets surrounded by gardens of roses and dahlias. Enjoy the view of its typical and extremely well-preserved wooden buildings.

If you love good food the aromatic Philippi Street, where all the restaurants, emporiums and tea rooms are, is a must.
