Araucanía

The Araucanía will connect you with your spiritual side with its perfect blend of traditions, nature, and urban life. Go to sleep while gazing at the stars in a ruka, an age-old Mapuche building, and wake up on the shores of Lake Budi. Its scenic beauty will allow you to gain an understanding of the love that the indigenous peoples of the region have for this land.

Never-ending paths, millennial araucaria (monkey puzzle tree) forests, and towering volcanoes, such as the Villarrica and Lonquimay, entice visitors to go trekking, canyoning, and climbing.

Are you a fan of extreme sports? Brave the speed of the snow-covered ski slopes of the Malalcahuello National Reserve and the Conguillío National Park. When you are done skiing, take a relaxing dip in the warm waters of its natural hot springs.

Tour the museums and follow in the footsteps of the poet Pablo Neruda through this region. Try the caldillo de congrio (conger stew), chicha de manzana (apple cider), and the traditional catutos de maíz (a type of corn bread) made by the Mapuche women, all of which will be a real treat for your palate. We promise that this destination with its own identity will enthrall you!
