Valdivian Week

A week of traditional festivities has become an icon of the South’s festivals. These celebrations commemorate the founding of Valdivia and mark the end of summer in the region. The center of the festivities in the middle of the Costanera Avenue and the Plaza de la República explodes on the last night of the week when 40 boats parade magnificently down the Calle Calle River. Music and fireworks attract thousands of spectators who gaze in wonder at the explosion of colors released by the boats over the water.
